From Queensland, Australia, Paul had an upbringing of travelling with his family. Indeed, it was during a very long journey in a VW van with his brother that he discovered the yachting industry and found that it “ticked all the boxes” in regards to his career requirements. That was in 2004 and after many sea miles, many text books and many pencil lines on charts, Paul has worked his way into the position of captain on M/Y Ninkasi. Recently married to another “yachtie”, Paul has 2 young children, but still tries to find time for surfing, photography and anything that keeps him active.
Stephen’s inspiration for a career in yachting was initiated after a three year long adventure hitchhiking around the world in the mid-eighties on small sailing yachts. Thereafter, he migrated into the world of professional yachting growing with all the exciting aspects of the industry, both on private and yachts chartering worldwide. Having recently joined M/Y Ninkasi, he is continuing his passion with yachts, the sea and being of service to share and bring the experience to others. When not on the water, he can be found on his on his dual sport Triumph Tiger motorcycle touring and camping throughout North America and enjoying nature through outdoor activities.
Lee hails from Ottawa, Canada. After studying political science, Lee decided it was time for a change and has now spent the last ten years in the yachting industry. His love for travel goes hand in hand with yachting and he can’t picture doing anything else! Lee has worked on both sailing and motor yachts, private and charter, giving him a wide array of experience. He takes huge pride in all that he and his team do on board and is always on hand to help out in anything you might need. In his spare time, he likes to exercise, practice yoga, skateboard, play hockey and travel.
Chef extraordinaire Tony is English but has honed his skills everywhere imaginable during his 30 years at sea. He even cooked for royalty as a sous chef on the legendary liner QE2. Tony has been Chef on Ninkasi for more than 5 years and hundreds of crew and guests have left the boat heavier than when they joined. When not in the galley, Tony is a keen golfer and photographer.
Rochelle, 29 Grew up on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. She was raised at the beach and decided 3 years ago to combine her love of the ocean and passion for travel and experiencing new cultures by joining the yachting industry. She is an avid trekker and over the past few years has taken on feats including Mt Kilimanjaro and Annapurna Base Camp. Before yachting she was a wedding and events florist which in turn brings creativity and flare to her position on board.
Danniel is from Queensland, Australia and the sea has always been a big part of his life. However, it was a New Year’s Eve conversation with an uncle in the industry which sparked Danniel’s interest in yachting. At the time he was actively recording and playing music. Danniel spent two years as deckhand on a classic Feadship before moving across to the engineering side utilizing the electrical apprenticeship he completed in Australia.When not working, Danniel enjoys playing the guitar, riding motorcycles and studying for courses to further his career.
Stacey is from a town in South Africa called Pietermaritzburg. Her first travelling experience was as an au-pair in Ohio, USA, where she spent 18 months caring for 3 gorgeous little boys and travelling the states. Thereafter, she spent two years studying holistic therapies. Stacey has always loved the ocean and its inhabitants and has been sailing the seas for almost 5 years.
Elyse was born and raised in New Jersey where she earned a bachelor in international business. She quickly realised the 9 to 5 grind wouldn’t satiate her passion for travel, so she packed her bags. After extensive travel, she discovered yachting. In her spare time, she enjoys scuba diving, hiking and is even a licensed skydiver.
